The thing is both of these cars are not stock. The non-s has almost 100 hp over the S and still only managed .052 sec. faster in the 1/4 mile.

If straight line acceleration is the litmus test, I'd offer that most Porsche's are overpriced...

I have had a few cars that ran low 10s and had a lot less in them than the price of my Porsche. To each his own but I see no reason to set our cars up for drag racing. That said I enjoy watching and could care less what someone else does with their time/money

That's why I focused on the "straight line acceleration" litmus test some use when assessing a car.

Many of my friends who own American sports cars ask me why anyone would spend more money on a foreign sports car that has worse objective numbers in terms of straight line acceleration (as compared to an American sports car)? My answer has always been that for me, sports cars are not all about objective numbers; subjective assessments are a large part of equation.

I guess without knowing the mods its hard to say... but does it appear a simple tune almost equalizes their performance?

You can drive a nail with a sledgehammer but that doesn't make you a master carpenter lol.
