Radar Detector Continuous Laser Warning - WAS MY CELL PHONE
Learned something new - wanted to pass it on. My new Escort Passport 9500ix kept going off every minute - laser full signal. Got home and asked Mr. Google why my detector kept going off on laser - here is where I found the answer: http://forums.androidcentral.com/mot...r-detetor.html
If you have an android phone near the laser detector (both of mine WERE mounted to the windshield next to each other) the phone sends out IR laser signal looking for hand motions - this obviously sets off the detector. Huh. Really. Glad I bought another Passport thinking my old one was gone for.
I'll run an experiment tomorrow - if this post is still up, it is indeed the cause.

I have a 2.5 year old Droid Razor Maxx HD and it doesn't affect my V1 in any way (my Droid likely doesn't have the same emitting system as your phone). But just to see what would happen, I just tried placing my phone near and all around my V1; no V1 alarm.
I normally keep my phone in my pocket when I drive.

I'm just sick of all the new cars with fancy radar based systems lighting up my V1 like it's Christmas. I'd do their trade-in upgrade program but it seems to make more sense to just sell my unit on craigslist and then buy a new one.

I don't think you can dumb down some of the drivers out there more than they are already. Case in point; I was driving alongside a woman today in Long Beach who was putting on her eye makeup!

On that note, I was at a stop light a few of days ago and a couple next to me the guy driving had a mixing bowl of cereal in his lap he was eating with a spoon and the girl had a full makeup counter going on the dashboard. I was thinking good hell maybe they should set the alarm a little earlier, so they can pay a little more attention to the road.

I have an older escort detector, and it goes off whenever I'm behind an Audi of some type. A buddy of mine has a V1 and has the same issues from time to time. He informed me it was because of the Led lights that send some sort of signal that drives the detectors crazy.

I don't know about other car manufacturers, but Audi's side-assist "safety" system uses two transmitters in the rear of the car, and they transmit at 24 GHz. Law enforcement K-band radars also transmit at 24 GHz, so if you are within range of any Audi that has its side-assist system turned on, your radar detector will likely alarm.

Well...the post is still up. Drove the turbo today with my Samsung S4 in my pocket the whole way. Radar detector never went off. DOE completed - test concluded. )

[QUOTE="Metal Guru;12283652"] The stretch of I-75 that's south of Toledo, Ohio has radar that's measuring traffic density. My V-1 would get pegged every mile by it. /QUOTE]
ran into that in NY a couple summers back. What a nuisance.
