Default New (to me), guards red 996tt

Well the hauler finally dropped off my eBay purchased 996tt yesterday. The exterior is actually much nicer than I expected. Not a dent or ding on the sides/rear and a few small chips on the front. 9.5/10. The interior is about as expected with some scratches and scuffs. 7.5/10. Overall I'm very happy.

I spent a few hours exterior detailing it. I'll take more pics later. Sorry about the quality. My 3 year old calls it 'daddy's red race car'.

I've really enjoyed this forum the past couple months. Everybody keeps it classy and its devoid of the all the bashing I see on so many forums. Thanks all!

Pull up the stainless steel door seals. I had surface rust underneath. Water was being trapped in adhesion tape. Painted with POR-15® and reatached door seals with water resistant adhesive.

Took some pics! Its a 2001 by the way with 36k miles. Only two owners both from Dallas Tx. All maintenance records.

I love the way it drive and handles. Exterior paint is beautiful. The clutch is hard as hell which surprises me. Takes a lot of pedal effort. You have to jamb it to the floor hard to start the car. I'm going to mess with the clutch safety switch to see if it needs adjusted. Not sure how to fix the pedal feel. I know there is a helper spring in there but I can almost feel the spring.

Mods coming... ordered 19" ruger mesh black wheels. I also hate the rear wiper so I am going to delete it.

The other car in the garage is my 71 Firebird Formula. I swapped in an LS1/T56 from a 2004 GTO. Its a complete restomod with pro touring suspension (coil overs), discs all around, 373 rear end, going to have air etc.

I deleted mine years ago.

The plug is from http://www.bumperplugs.com/. Just be sure to use some silicon around the plug when you install it to prevent any water from entering the interior of the car.

Car looks great, congrats!

I also considered the Ruger wheels --I wanted to stick with 18s and the Forgestars super deep concave rears won out over the Rugers...plus my Audi S8 has mesh wheels similar to the Rugers (that's probably why I liked them!).

BTW, your boy will love the P-Car, my 22 month old sure does!
