Do not really want to find out in either condition! But I do want my new-to-me, 30k mi. 996tt to be as reliable and long-lived as my '71T was when I sold her at 180k mi. & 29 years. That one never once let me down and was going strong even then. These are small, easy things to do.

Lost a post somehow.
Anyway,
1 - straight away.
2 - Maybe 5 - 10 sec. Or even a little more.
I want my new-to-me tt to last a long time. Whatever contributes to that I will do!
Last turbo I owned was a modified 92 Mazda R1. Always cooled her down a "long" time. Kid I sold it to blew it up inside of two weeks 'cause he didn't listen and tried to show a Camaro (of all things) how quick it was.

no one rule fits all. if i'm pushing the car in heat, and have been heavily in boost? then i let the turbos cool and it makes sense to do so. if not, then i dont.
but i dont pull a fuse for an oil change. i'm pretty sure that porsche doesn't either? but they like when stuff wears prematurely, if they get the call to repair it!
