I prefer the look of the C4S lip. Clearance is no longer and issue.

with a 45mm drop you're gonna scrape no matter which lip is installed. my old c4s is hanging by a thread. i've trimmed the bottom with a razor as best i can to remove as much "rash" as i can, and its by now, useless.

ironically, the best price i can find is carnewal but that is lost to me on shipping obviously, coming from belgium. 238 is about the best price in the state to be found.

i used to pay 100.00 even and would scrape with joyful impunity. no longer lol

Sorry just my opinion, only replacement is the turbo spoiler, the C4s takes away from the turbo look!

I bought a cheap aero style lip off eBay for $110 and couldn't be happier. It scraps all the time but I don't care. At that price I consider it a wear item just like brake pads. The C4S lip just doesn't work for me looks wise.

Why would I want my 996 Turbo to look more like a 996 C4S??

I have a C4S lip on my C4S. If I go to a turbo lip, will I go faster, have better aerodynamics, lol. Thanks guys this is an interesting thread. Even as much as I try with my C4S I still get scraps pretty often.

Unknown. But what IS known is that you'd have a 996 Turbo front lip on your 996 C4S, and my question would then be..."Why would you want your C4S to look more like a 996 Turbo?".

If you add a matching turbo tail spoiler with the turbo aero lip your C4S will handle better in high speed cornering so yes, you will go faster.

i'd sure like to see the a/b results from a turbo at top speed with the oem lip VS the same car with a c4s lip and the top speed results.

i say poppycock and balderdash. a styling cue, is all it is i would bet, and i prefer the look of the c4s dramatically. but everyone here knows i'm mostly contrarian if not ( ahem ) "different" from most. ha

just look at scottie's posted pic of the paint to match c4s lip, and just try and convince me that doesn't "look better". though subjective aesthetic arguments are circular and there is no definitive answer, and y'all in here are mostly purists so god forbid someone put a part on their car, that wasn't factory issue for it.

oh, the sacrilege of it all lol

Besides the additional clearance... I just think the c4s spoiler simply integrates better with the nose. The turbo lip spoiler looks like an after thought.... designed for generic use for any car. I never cared for it. I was having paint work done on the car at a body shop and decided to have all the black bits (rockers and spoilers) done to color match. I'm happy with the results...and I guess that's all that truly matters.

of course, it does, and that is why many of us have opted to use it rather than the rather odd ( to my eye ) looking oem.

but surely porsche wouldn't put the "better" looking lip from the c4s on the once "flagship" turbo model?!

i think they learned "something" from the boxter/996 carerra headlamps debacle, vis a vis lesser priced models sharing similar looking parts lol
