By no means the level you are going to, but its interesting to me to see how our cars can evolve in the suspension realm.
I will post up install pics of the suspension install when I get everything together. I already have all the tender/main springs and upper mounts but I'm still waiting on front and rear drop link brackets and then I can begin install. I need to remove everything from the front end of the car as I'm swapping in a flat bottom tank which necessitates removal of the steering rack, front subframes and changing out the complete coolant pipe architecture under the car.

Definitely. So long as I can control this "while Im in there" enough to get the car track ready by spring. LOL.

I'll have some really cool goodies coming later this year....

You'll be ready, let me know if you need a hand in February or March.
By then I should be done with house stuff.

While ironing out a few details for the engine rebuild, we've decided to install the 997Cup electric power steering pump instead of the engine driven power steering parts. As such I won't need the 997GT2 power steering reservoir or the engine driven pump. If any of you guys are looking to do the GT2 non assist conversion, let me know as I have these sitting on the shelf now. I installed the reservoir brand new 3 years ago and it has just over 5K miles on it and is in perfect condition. It's the latest version, part number 997.314.920.50. I also have the pump without the interior coupler to use on the non assist cars. Cheers...

Too bad you didn't pull those parts a couple months ago when I was buying the same to swap to the GT2 slave.

I'm excited for you and the new motor!

I have no complaints on my 6GT2 steering but is there any significant improvements in the 7GT2 unit?

Hey Gents. The GT2 power steering pump and reservoir mentioned in my post above already found a new home. Thanks to those that emailed me about it.

Here you go. I just assembled this last night and I'm getting ready to install these in my car. These are JRZ Motorsport 12.32 Motorsport 3 way adjustable dampers with the optional larger 25mm shaft. Rebound is adjustable on the shaft and both low and high speed compression adjustments are on the remote canisters. I'm pairing these with Eibach ERS race springs, front Porsche Motorsport 997Cup upper mounts, rear JRZ Motorsport upper mounts, and Tarrett extended front drop links.

Below you can also see a set of 996GT3RS suspension components I just received from Germany. These have some distinct differences from the standard 996GT3/2/Cup components that I'm currently running now. The 996GT3RS has different front and rear uprights along with rear side members which were all the homologation parts for the 996RSR. As such the RS uprights use the Motorsport castings but have pickup points machined roughly 12mm higher than the Cup/RSR units. This was done in order to allow higher ride heights that the 83/107 ride height of the RSR. These RS components will allow for ride heights of around 100/120 with substantial better geometry that standards GT2/3/Cup parts. The Motorsport casting are hollow and substantially beefier than the standard units. They use 6 bolt bearing retainers both front and rear, compared to 4 bolt on the standard units. While the 997GT3 cars (including the 4.0RS) use a 6 bolt pattern in the front, they still only use a 4 bolt street upright in the rear which is totally different from the Motorsport units. The front subframe pictured is a 996RSR subframe. The RSR subframe is identical to the standard version except the LCA pickup point is raised 6mm. The RS does not use this subframe, it uses the standard subframe.

I will post up pics of RSR control arms and toe arms next week if you'd like to see those.

Porsche Motorsport 997Cup mounts. Note the high camber configuration which allow 3+ degrees of camber without any LCA shims. This is critical for fitting 10" wide front wheels with 275 tires. Rebound adjusters are at the top of the shaft.

Remote canisters with independent high and low speed compression adjusters

Monoball lower rear pin mount

Front upper spring bearing mount

Front Eibach ERS main and tender springs

Rear Eibach ERS main and tender springs

996GT3RS suspension components

Front upright (This is the 380mm brake version that I need for my car). The 996RS uses a version machined for 350 brakes.

Rear upright. Note that the casting is predrilled for a parking brake. The Cup/RSR does not have that.

RSR front subframe The LCA pickup point on the RSR subframe is 6mm higher. You can see how the upper part of the subframe is milled to allow for clearance.

1900/2000 lb springs eh?
Wowza, I'm running just under half that currently.
I know you've said going up has helped on your track, I may have to add a few hundred next winter when I have rears refreshed.
Pacific is so undulating with about 7 different surfaces, lots of bumps, and I still drive it on the street regularly so I have a hard time committing to upping the rates.
