Default 996tt on eBay

My hunt continues, and I came across this 996tt with 52.5k miles that looks very appealing with a low price (even the buy it now looks low based on what I have been reading):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/141499595953?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
It definitely needs a new set of tires, but the interior looks great and it reportedly has a clean PPI (should be confirmed).

From a newbie, what am I missing?

Sounds like a very good price if it checks out even with the extra cost of needing tires. I would have my own ppi done and go see it in person.

If you click through the links, that is the price it reached with reserve not met on EBAY.

Wow pretty impressive price. Is it strange that for plugs and coils to get replaced at 44K (instead of 30k)? does that mean maintenance was postponed or the plugs were replaced at 30k, and then the coils failed and they decided to get new plugs then, too?

The seller has all maintenance records since he has owned the car (he is the third), and he apparently performed much of the maintenance DIY with guidance from renntech.org.

I just spoke with a very nice tech at Stevinson Porsche (where this car's PPI was performed), and he told me that the car had "far from a clean PPI," as the seller describes. Along with mismatched tires, a leak in the spoiler ram, a damaged chin spoiler and a non-functional key remote, there is a coolant leak below the manifold (suspected from the oil cooler). Coolant is apparently dripping on the sway bar... sounds like an engine out repair.

I lost my interest at mismatched tires... Heads up to anybody else who may come across this car.

Good job on the investigating. I would look for a good car with decent miles and maintenance records there are usually some nice cars here and on 6spd for sale.

From the pics the arm rests seem to be scuffed up, but other then that looks decent.
