Default Replaced battery in key fob now it does not remotely unlock the doors

So my little red led went out on the key fob, replaced the battery in the key fob, led works and flashes but does not lock or unlock the doors or hood. I can open the doors manually and start the car.
I tried putting the key in the ignition turn on the ignition, not starting the car and then pressing the key fob, still not working. Tried putting the key in the door lock pressing the key fob still not working. Unlocked the door and then pressed the key fob, still no results.

Any ideas? Appreciate the feedback!

I saw a post where the guy cleaned up the inside circuits and it came back to life.

try a FOB reset by putting the battery in reverse polarity for 10 seconds, then installing it properly.

when all else fails, you need new fob guts, and the hours worth of ( ahem ) "labor" to re-program. may as well just do two fobs at the same time, since the innards eventually gives out on them all.

On one of my keys the solder on one of the battery power connection to the circuit board came loose and was giving me inconsistent functionality. I re-soldered it and now it is fine.

Looks like this post is over a year old but here is what I would try before I changed out the FOB internals.

I don't know if changing a FOB battery has the same impact on the software as when it puts itself into a sleep mode after not driving for 4-5 days, but I'd test the same process for restoring it. That is, try locking and unlocking the door using the key. Then immediately, before opening the door, try locking and unlocking with the FOB. At least no alarm that way. If it doesn't work, at least it costs nothing to try.

Quick Reply: Replaced battery in key fob now it does not remotely unlock the doors
