I had a V8 R8 as my daily driver before the 996TT and it is a stunning car. With the mag ride turned off it makes a great comfortable cruiser, it's far more exclusive than a 911, it's very easy to drive with good visibility, and is great fun to drive hard if you want to.

Whist I think the R8 is a much better complete package if I were only judging which is the better drivers car the TT wins it.

Keep turbo. Trade her car for the S5. Everyone happy.

Get a louder exhaust and coilovers and she can reminisce about how good she used to have it.

Had one of the first S5s in the country for about 2 years. Great gran touring coupe - seats are beautiful, but not comfy. Like my 911TT seats better. Just not a good trade in my book. The R8 - especially a V10 a good trade off - thought about that myself.

This is very simple. Don't do it. You will miss the Porsche everyday. Trade the A6 in on a S8 for her.

3.0T (supercharged) S5 can get really nasty also. V8, you might as well get an A5. They drink too much and offer little action.

RS5 if anything. Still big and heavy. My wife has RS5 cab and it's fine but no way as sharp as your car.

Happy wife=happy life (I'm qualified to say that after 31 years together). Put a different exhaust on and keep it. I also have Techart and am looking for a cheap stock system to put on when we travel.

the economics don't make sense. keep your turbo but change out the exhaust and soften the suspension. i'm guessing it took you a lot of money and time to get your car just right. now enjoy. it's now completely depreciated. an r8 and s5 will depreciate a lot. depreciation is frequently our highest expense; and not enjoying our car is our greatest loss.

if you have kids remember to get her something nice this mother's day, something like:
