Default Info from VIN?

I have a VIN from a 996 Turbo I am looking at.
Can Anyone here help me with history or options if I post it?
Thanks
Rod

With the VIN you could call PCNA customer service and see if you can learn what options the car shipped with. Also, there is the options sticker under the front trunk lid. Oh, and to what dealer the car was originally delivered (sold) to.

You can paste the VIN into a Google search and see what hits come up. Often ads for the car will appear, sometimes ads from a way back and you can possibly learn where the car spent some time.

Of course a CarFax report helps you to know where the car spent some time, too.

With this info and the VIN you can call dealers in those areas and see if you can learn what servicing the car had and when. I advise you to avoid asking about previous owners. Many dealers clam up due to privacy concerns and you really want to know about the car.

Thanks for the tips.
Google shows nothing.
My Vinny app. shows a 2001 Porsche, but carfax says it's not a good VIN number.
Ya, I should have got the info under the hood, but I forgot.
The car does not come with a history so this might not be easy.

suncoast can run the vin, they charge $10. gives you the build history of the vehicle and the in service (warranty start) date. takes like 24 hours if I recall. it comes in german, so you'll need to do some google translating if you don't sprechen.

I just called my local dealership and provided the VIN (Pfaff Porsche) and the girl sent me an email with all the options (It was in German). No Charge.

I called up Phaff and parts specialist (Michael) had it to me in minutes. Both German and English.
That's what I call great customer service!
Unfortunately it shows standard options as well so I have no idea what additional options are in the car.
Can anyone tell me if this car has the full leather package or a carbon fiber package?

It seems to me the carbon you have is not oem. I got the carbon fiber option on mine and the steering wheel, the hand brake lever and shifter are in carbon and door sills . Not the door handle….The carbon fiber option codes are :X69 for the door sills with model insignia, X47 handbrake, X58 shifter...
