I spotted a GREAT '02 Speed Yellow Turbo at dealer
Early this week I was at Stevenson Porsche in Denver. I was in the service bay when one of the Techs told me that he just got done doing the initial dealer PPI. My sister is looking for a tippy.
Details...
2002 with 22,000 miles on it.
Speed Yellow >>the paint is in GREAT shape.
Black interior with factory carbon fiber interior
Sport seats
Tiptronic
Windows tinted (way too dark for me> 85% on side glass, 95% on rear)
Front spoiler with rash > needs replaced
I inspected the powertrain, and was very clean
Overall the car looked good, the tech said it passed the inspection. I briefly looked over the car for my sister.
Disclaimer: This car looked clean, I did not drive it, nor did I perform my PPI on it. With that said, I did spend some time on it. I am posting this to let someone know of a great car. I do NOT know the pricing on it.

I dont want upset the posts, but this car has limited carbon. If it had the full carbon package the center console ( now painted), the outside AC vent bezel, the three spoke whee, the inside door arm rests, the Bose door speaker covers, and defroster vents would all be carbon. Does not have the multiple CD player, this car is limited in options! So maybe anyone interested can use this for leverage.

That "$60K" number agrees very closely with KBB for a car being offered for sale by a dealer.
The $51K number is a private party sale price for a car in "fair" condition.
Car dealers generally do not offer a car at below market but above market.
I didn't look at a CarFax report for this car but a VIN search turned up just 2 hits both at the selling dealer's web site.
That's a good looking car but the price is a bit troubling...
Or maybe not.
Just did a search for Porsche 911s from 02 to 05 within 100 miles.
One Turbo came up that has some bearing on this discussion: An 03 Turbo, 6-speed, with 9600 miles, being offered by a private seller for $55K.
Maybe the SY car's price is close to market?

NADA has it as $35.5 for clean trade in, and $41 for clean retail.
A friend who owns a chain of dealerships once told me to always use NADA when negotiating trade ins or buying used cars.
Dealers use wholesale auction values when acquiring new cars through sale or trade. NADA is the best free consumer source for auction values. They price the cars on their used lots based on KBB. The spread between KBB retail and NADA wholesale is huge based on just about any random sample you care to check.
At any rate it's proven to be excellent advice. Including when I bought my TT.
The asking price seems high to me, but I hope they get it. It might mean that 996tt values are starting to rise. Somebody has to blaze that trail.

Why are people who already own a Porsche constantly trying to push the price down of other cars for sale? Those who are always saying everything is way too high are slitting their own throats too. I'm amazed at how often people post that you should be able to get a perfect, low mileage, no stories car for $40k. It ain't out there, folks.
I bought Apple stock at $600. When other people say they are considering it at $470 I don't tell them that's way too high and they should pay less - I want the price to go up.
Since when do buyers get to pay auction prices to a retail dealer anyway?

Auction prices help tell you what the dealer has in the car. Being that this car is thirteen years old there aren't many action prices to sample. If this were a 2010 there would be a lot more cars and would really help nail down a number.
I bet this dealer has less than 40,000 in it. 38 on trade and couple thousand on lot prep( detail, tires, and here and theres).
