I need a Clutch - need help
My clutch is starting to slip noticeably in any gear above 4th as soon as the boost hits. With 53k miles and flashed ecu pushing up the power it is time for a new clutch I fear. Its sucks to have this unexpected expense, but I am trying to look at this as an opportunity.
I plan on buying the clutch kit and then having it installed by a local shop. This is my first clutch experience with a 996tt so i really would appreciate some help. I think it would be smart to upgrade the clutch to match the power and would appreciate suggestions. I have heard sachs stage 2 (sport)...clutch masters....help I am lost. Please be specific to what I need to buy...kit or part numbers...I have been researching this for a while and still am a little unclear what I need.
Thank you in advance

Just went through that, and ended it with a call ti Kevin at UMW. I just bought a clutch kit from him for my boss' 04 cab. It will more than hold up for most any needs to 600 hp. He's tailored it to work great with the dual mass flywheel and you can replace a few other items when you're in there with what he has in stock.
Good luck!

that is what I installed, and love it, but the flywheel is not for everyone.
Some find it noisy, I think it sings
this is a good time to consider pinning your coolant fittings

For the bossman's car, we opted to keep the DMFW. It keeps it a little more wife friendly, a little quieter, and he's not going to track it. It gets installed next week, so I'll give everyone some feedback and let you know what I think.

Just had a new clutch fitted. Sachs 890Nm kit. Did pick it up this morning and the feel is like stock. Great clutch system. check the fork they tend to wear a bit. Did replace it+ small bearings+ bushes+release bearing. Got slave+accumulator done too while box was out. You can have a GT2 slave mod done too if you want.
