Default Where are all the tt's for sale???

I have started looking for a 01-02 higher mileage (60k plus) turbo but can't seem to find many. Been looking on ebay, clist, autotrader, any other places to look? Trying to find a MT, red/yellow/or white hopefully. See any around?

Goes in waves. Just keep searching around and expand your parameters. My turbo was listed for sale as an automatic and had no pics posted. Took me 2 years to find one. Patience is a virtue and make sure a PPI is in the game plan.

I've got an 01 6spd, black on black, 73k, with some goodies, but nothing crazy. Make me an offer if you're interested.

I've noticed a big drop off in volume of turbos for sale as we move into Winter. The ones that are for sale are at lower price (which is awesome), yet the volume makes finding exactly what you want pretty tough.

If you can wait to time the market into Spring (late March, early April), the number for sale will be dramatically greater...

Best of luck!

I looked for a long time and found most private party cars on Craigslist, most mint high end dealer cars were on Autotrader and the crappy dealers selling beaters were on Craigslist.

These go in waves, as one of the other members stated. It took me a while to find a 996TT that was in good shape. What area are you in?

I am in Colorado, so not too far from CA, NV, AZ either.

I don't really need one until spring since I live in the mountains and we have a bunch of snow, so I can wait if I can't find anything.

I do a lot of shopping on Autotrader...and there are quite a few out there right now. You can also buy the car and have it shipped. There is a red tip 2002 for sale in MD right now $46K.

Try http://www.autotempest.com to search many different sites at once, including Craigslist across the country.

A couple of rare color examples I noticed today-

Forest Green-
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/3529266346.html

Slate Grey-

No affiliation, both in the bay area.

Took me several months as well. How are you pricing them? Above $40k there should be many options.

You should check different forum car listings such as the one on here, 6speedonline has a lot of 996tts typically, but they definitely don't have as many for sale right now as they did when I was looking.

I think 996tt owners have a hard time finding something with similar performance and reliability for the same price. Maybe it is time for some price appreciation, then more will hit the market. Good luck with your search, enjoy the process but don't forget the PPI.

Usually the people having the most trouble are the ones who are looking for low miles, all records, no stories, and below market prices. Something has to give - if you want the right car without issues, raise your price a bit and you'll find some nice cars. Looks like the OP is okay with higher miles, so just stay patient - there will be more as cars come out to play in the spring. Looking for the right car is 51% of the fun anyway.
