Default New SpeedTech 996TT Wide Angle Tip Design

By popular request, we recently designed a new wide angle tip for the 996TT.

Below is a picture of the design prototype installed on our 996TT. These tips will fit all existing SpeedTech 2.5 and 3.0 X-cellerator exhaust systems and are now available as a retro-fit item for existing customers or for delivery with new speced/purchased systems, as well!

Those look great. Now I'm thinking of a Speedtech exhaust. I was on the fence previously as the tips didn't do it for me.

Hmmm belated Christmas present to Tubbo...

Hello John,

My 2002TT currently has A28's, GT44.5 headers, and Cargraphic Loud exhaust with 200 cell cats. I'm interested in your 2.5" system with the angle tips. Hoping to understand the sound difference, particularly at cruising speed ~3000rpm and what if any effect on power / spool I could expect.

Thanks,
Zach

John, They look cool, but what do they do to the sound as compared to the standard coax tips on the 2.5?

They never went into final production. Although there was verbal interest, none were ever ordered and after testing we found they brought out a drone that is otherwise not present with our 2.5 system.

Since the majority of our 2.5 customers are after a sporty, yet comfortable daily driver exhaust system, we felt that these tips were a step in the wrong direction for us and could taint the reputation of our 2.5 system.

These factors weighed in on our decision halt production of these tips beyond the few prototype sets that were made...

IMO, the standard round tips, the OEM tips or the dual tips are all better choices for our system.
