What did you do to your 996TT today?
No need to pull the axles, though that might have been easier!
I popped the track rod end off, wound the spring perch down, undid the shocker rod bolt, then with the ARB disconnected pushed the hub carrier down.
Then theres enough room to get the bearing assembly and upper spring perch out the way of the top mounting bracket.
All that’s left is to undo the 3 bolts holding the top mount to the body and slide that away.
I only did it like this as I didn’t have a replacement stretch bolt for the shocker body! But it proved quite quick when I repeated it on the second side.
hope that helps.

Quick question, do you experience longer than usual cranking if you car sits for a week or more?
If not they which check valve in the fuel system could be at fault? after swapping FPS again I'm experiencing this issue. It always starts but since it's off the road I start is occasionally.

I see it as a plus. No longer worrying about when. Looks like it happened in town and it on the highway in the middle of nowhere like me
Hope you plan to do the work yourself. You will learn so much and bond with your car even more. Probably end up sleeping in or under it like I did.

Took it to the dealer for front clunk removal and starter installation.

Honestly haven't driven it since it died; started no problem this am, but it's been on the charger.
I really didn't want to bump start it again, but when I checked the battery it was fine, so a twenty year old dead, or dying, starter seemed plausible.

Ok, clunk is a little more than I thought:
Looks like one of the pss9 spring perches has a crack in it, I am hoping we can source that locally and cheaply, any guidance here would be helpful.
More seriously, though, both my front drive shafts have buggered boots... I'm going to look around for replacements, as the dealer wants $2500cdn for the pair, but I was wondering, maybe time to go 2wd for awhile, so question:
Can we just pull the shafts and go, or does anything need to be plugged up?
Any downside to this mod? Will it behave like a 930?
I have been looking for a 991.1 front shaft assembly (not really hard, but...) And will likely use the Syvecs controller for it, but that's kind of a longer term project, so as I don't really want to drop thousands on fixing it at the moment, could be fun for my Alberta run.
Cheers,
Oh, also drive a nail through the rear tyre.

So, pull the shafts, Cardon shaft and good to go?
How does it drive in this format?
