Water pump and thermostat time. The pulley sheared off the pump. Luckily the impeller stayed intact and there was no other collateral damage besides a shredded belt.

I am curious. How many miles on that pump and what year is your turbo?

Finally ordered a fuel cell after procrastinating for years and being stuck in time trials or lapping days due to the stock tank. Refilling the stock tank with a gas can was painful and this will make refills 10x faster and safer! It's four weeks away from being delivered and need Cantrell to wire it up with their custom 996 harness

^ Yea, hot dang that is expensive. Did you think about getting a universal one, or do those not meet needed certifications?

Good question and I asked this earlier as I was learning about the setup. The space for the fuel tank requires a certain shape or massive amounts of cutting to the body and re-welding for a universal rectangle fuel cell. I also have the electric cup steering in the frunk and will be adding in air jacks in the future or at the same time if budget allows. Here's an example of the space limitations in the 996 with a similar fuel cell and air jacks (power steering is missing from this pic):

Drove PCH to Malibu. On the way back, someone with a brand-new-to-him 991 Targa wanted to race. I noted the decklid said 911 Carrera. Nothing special, I thought, but looking it up, the standard 991.2 does 0-60 a tenth of a second quicker than is claimed on a 996 Turbo. The minor mods on my car probably don't offset the 110K miles of wear, and the 5 speeds of the Tip aren't a match for a 7-speed PDK. So I'll watch out for street challenges in future (and in heavy traffic on PCH, TargaBoy just made an *** of himself as I ignored his efforts to provoke me to hit the loud pedal)

Even a lowly base 991.2 with nothing more than a stock Cobb Tune will be pushing ~435 HP / 460 TQ. The larger turbine on the S and GTS can push that easily above 500HP.

LOTS of headroom in those new turbo 3.0 liters!

I know one of those guys in town - I was amazed what a downpipe, intake and tune did.

My suggestion is to avoid street challenges from even those that you could easily "beat."
