Yeah, i was getting both 420/430 - hopefully new coils will be the solution.

Paint finish on your car is absolutely beautiful, btw...

Changed the cabin filter earlier this week but needed to be done. Both were Mann carbon filters CUK 3360 so they are gray to begin with compared to the white ones.

Default new to me 996TT-first phase

Bought the car a little over a month ago. has 55k on it. Today was phase 1 of 3, this was the easy part:

1-Fuel filter
2-Serp belt
3-Air filter
4-Frunk struts
5-Cabin filter
6-New wiper blades

It was very simple. Toughest part was making sure the fuel filter clicked back to the coolant reservoir. Serp belt is not bad once you get the lowest pulley, water pump. Rest is following the path. Frunk strut clips are a pain but all done.
Phase 2 will be:
Oil Change, plugs and coils, brake fluid

Phase 3:
Ohlins, ride heights and alignment

Thats good advice. However, Car hits 1.1 bar wot. So it’s tuned. And I don’t have any reason to believe there are leaks. Not opposed to checking it over at docs .

Took the Turbo out to a SCCA autocross practice session at Fontana today. I'm a novice and haven't taken it to an event in a couple years, but it was a ton of fun. Only issue was the low brake fluid light going off about 45 seconds into every run - reservoir level was fine and pedal feel was great, so I chose to ignore it.

It was also the first time I've spun out spectacularly in the 996! Part due to my negligence on tire pressures and part due to tunnel vision. Went from 35/39 to 32/34 and it greatly improved the rest of my day. It's a heavy car to hustle around an autocross course, but it was a pretty quick layout and a nice chance to find, then totally exceed, the car's limits.

The Turbo's have plenty of headroom, so hitting full boost doesn't mean you don't have leaks... If you do have leaks, you will feel the difference in how quickly it gets to full boost and your turbos won't have to work so hard to get to full boost.

^^ I agree...hitting 1.1 doesn't mean you don't have a leak. I've run fine..boost on target....appears to have no issue...low mileage car but boy did it have quite a few leaks. I always boost leak test at oil changes now and at every 3/4th time I leak test I find a leak

How bad were the leaks?

Nice work on getting to know the car and using it properly. Take it to the SCCA track days and you'll see it shine brighter

Custom external video microphone install using the OEM license plate light bracket and routed the wire back to passenger seat with new gromments. I'll do a DIY post after I get the SmartyCam adapter cable and hear it on video since the sound is most important and heard this was the best spot. The internal mics or external mics mounted in the passenger compartment sound like crap!

Hey Scott,
I have my mic set up the same way. I’ve tried several mics and the one that seems to work the best is the racelogic mic with the 3 meter cable. Use a wind sock on it. Here is the link to it.

Is this done to make sure you don't exceed track sound limits?

Good job! The brake fluid light is just from braking hard, causing a lot of fluid to leave the reservoir and trip the sensor. I bet if you add just a touch of fluid next time it won't go off. I have had this happen before.

Doubt it, I think it's for high quality sound when making videos.
