I think we all have different definitions of "clear". In my experience, you need to have them polished and then apply clear bra as soon as possible to preserve the newly restored look otherwise they will just degrade again.

Actually Porsche recommends not to use clear bra on headlights, because there is a risk of delamination when removed years down the road. I have seen delamination first hand in later model Porsches. I don't know if this happens with Porsche headlights from early 2000s,they were making way better products back then.

Yeah, that is interesting though. Im tempted to try it on a section of the light... I am looking for as close to crystal clear as I can get and was planning to fully wet sand and polish, then apply a protective layer. No one really notices mine are hazed at all, I just see it from certain angles..

I replaced the passenger side lower rocker panel piece, as mine was badly destroyed by poor jack placement by a PO.

It was tough to tell by looking at the car, but knowing it was hosed and how reasonable for a Porsche part it is, I made the swap.

Did a pair of them a week or two ago on a 6TT, shop used by the PO of the car did a pathetic job of patching the existing panels and had urethane everywhere to secure the broken panels...not fun cleaning that up...new panels fit well...unlike my replacement GT2 front splitter, either a bad batch or Porsche has poorly sourced a new manufacturer for that piece...anyone else have issue? ...working with my parts guy on it...

Replaced the drivers side window regulator and did my first 996tt oil change. Getting to know her a little better, but almost a bit scared I will find out things I didn't want to know (still in the honeymoon phase). Eerily similar to my relationship with my wife....

Re the regulator - were you having issues with the dip when the door opens or something else? How easy was replacing the regulator?

On mine, it was blatantly obvious. You could hear noises in the door when the window motor was running that sounded like cable stretch. Then the window became completely inoperable. Regulator replacement was easy, but be careful with removing you mirror switch (for door panel removal) you have to pull out the bottom and slide UP to release the top. Also, make sure that you remove the top window stop that is on the new regulater or the window wont go down all the way. Buy a handful of door panel clips since they are easy to break upon removal of the door panel and make sure to unplug the battery while the airbag is removed. Window adjustment is easy if you follow the Pelican Parts DIY. Probably a 3 hour project?

Did a track day at lime rock. Nothing hardcore, just four 20min sessions (two in the rain) with the green group hpd of PCA. Great fun.

^ Shiny.

Did you wet sand and clear coat them with non-yellowing UV protective paint?

Nice, did you remove the washer caps or sand and paint them in place?

Well, technically I started couple days ago and not quite finished yet, but I started detailing the outside of my car.

Dropped off for a wrap. They don't offer full clear bra as its too time consuming and too expensive so I went with a wrap, mainly to protect the car.

They do entire front in clear bra though but I want protection all around, so wrap it is.

Going for "Mexico Blue".
