Default Forgestar introduces 996 widebody specific wheels

We have been dealing with Forgestar for a little over 2 years and have been through their various growing pains. We have counseled with them a lot on the Porsche market and what you guys wanted, I am proud to say that they have finally listened and stepped up to offer to the Porsche community a full bolt-on wheel.

We felt the Porsche community was willing to pay a little bit more for the differences that would turn this great product into an industry killer!

Forgestar have started a new run of 19" Porsche specific fitments and

- OE center caps fits
- OE lug bolts fit
- Hubcentric wheels - no rings - no vibrations - no balancing issues
- Weight optimized offsets and backpad weight reduction
- In STOCK - no 6 to 8 weeks lead times!

FLOW-FORMING

Forgestar's flowforming process is a unique solution to a common problem – how to make a wheel both light and strong.

This specialized process begins with a low pressure type of casting and uses a special machine that spins the initial casting, heats the outer portion of the casting and then uses steel rollers pressed against the rim area to pull the rim to its final width and shape. The combination of the heat, pressure and spinning create a rim area with the strength similar to a forged wheel. During Flow Forming, the pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel. The resulting grain structure within the alloy of the wheel is linear, flowing in a single direction.

This grain structure pattern, combined with the exceptional quality of casting required for the process, gives the rim area of the wheel huge mechanical strength, and elongation. As a result of these mechanical characteristics, Forgestar is able to reduce the thickness of the rim area resulting in reduced weight, without compromising strength and resistance to impact.

We have 40 sets in stock.

Specs:
Wide body
19x8.5+46 23.8 lbs
19x11+38 26.xlbs

I'd really consider these wheels if they were 18in... For me the tire choice in 19in is too limited to consider going to 19s.

Take a look at Modulare Wheels, many configurations and colors to add for a nice custom wheel. They come in 18 and up. Mine are chrome lip silver insert to match the Porsche caps. I have thge M11's in 18's as ashipped with the car, with a large lip in the rear and smaller lip in the front

Agreed on the 18" input. I have a set of 19" wheels for my 996TT, and I doubt I'll ever buy another set. I plan to stick with 18" from now on.

But do you have them in 18"? Not trying to be a PITA, but 19" on a 996tt is a PITA.

They never released them in 18s - we tried an interest run on "other" Porsche forums and never got to 20 which was the necessary amount.

18s are available in standard Forgestar blanks with hubcentric metal rings, new lug bolts and Forgestar center caps.

the hub ring that's needed to run the f14's is a non issue, but i was concerned too. i figured, great, i'm getting rid of spacers but have to add a hub insert! been running them a few months and they're great. they have to be one of the best relatively inexpensive wheels for our cars.
