Plug and coil change is easily $900+. The timing of the PPI and the service will be a little tricky. You don't want to spend all this money to find out you aren't buying the car.

I agree. Maybe the best thing to do is to be there for the PPI, and have them do the compression/leakdown test last thing, only after she is sure that the rest of the car checks out ok. The parts for plugs and coilpacks will run about $350. That's what's at stake, since she already has to pay the labor for the compression test.
