IIRC, in another thread I believe this question was asked and the answer was no, they are not interchangeable. I tried to do an archive search but couldn't find it. It might have been on RennTech, 6Speed, or Pelican where I read it. I would encourage you to do some searches.

Why would you want to change it out? You're still talking about cats with (IIRC) 400 cell counts. Do you have any information that the 997 exhaust is somehow better than the stock 996? If you're thinking about exhaust enhancements, I would look to some of the proven ones for the 996TT platform.... like Europipe, Cargraphic, and a few others that specs show reduced backpressure, lighter weight, and dyno stats to back up claims of increased HP. There's a lot of trade puffing going on for aftermarket parts with some claims of HP increases that are not backed up by anything but verbiage and hot air (by product of exhaust ). I'd want to see proof before I sunk money into an exhaust system.

I just came across someone wanting to get rid of his 997 exhaust for 300.00 bucks and was wondering. If any body out there wants it, let me know.
