Car Seat Help

Hey guys,

My husband just traded our 2005 Porsche Boxster in on a 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo. Do any of you know what car seats fit well in it, besides the Porsche car seats? Our one child is 5 yrs old and about 37 lbs and 43 inches tall and our second child is 2 yrs old and 26 lbs. and almost 35 inches tall. Thanks!

There are a number of seats that fit, do a search for that subject and you'll get all sorts of info. I have used the Porsche seat and a few others in 2 996 Turbos as my kids grew (now 8 and 10 - out of car seats) and it worked great. They still love the Turbo, but want it to be louder!!

haha cute that they want it to be louder.

Yes, I did a search last night but got lost trying to figure out which threads were talking about the 911 Turbo and which were talking about other Porsches. *hides face* My hubby is the Porsche man. Could you somehow direct me to a proper thread?

The cosco Scenara, sold at Target, has a narrow base and fits well in the rear seat wells $59

I have a Britax Parkway booster seat with back in the back of mine. That should fit your 5 year old.

I took out the bottom seat cushion - it is just pulls up - it is velcroed in...

Well, 6speedonline.com's search is down, give this forum a search and there should be some rear facing seat options as well:

Britax Starriser Comfy as pictured. No need to remove the cushion.

There is a huge thread in the 996 NA section. If the interior dimensions are no different, it should be applicable to turbos as well.

I appreciate all your guys help!!! Thankyou greatly!

It appears you can not buy that seat anymore. Hmm...

Here's a dumb question....what is NA? Where would I find that thread?

You do not have to remove the seat cushion for the Britax Parkway, I just did to keep it clean and from getting permanent dents from the car seat...

Here is the normally aspirated (NA - non-turbo) 996 forum:

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum-60/

You can do a search there. Is your car a convertible or hard top? I think the convertibles are a little tighter in the back seats...

Thanks so much for your help. Now I understand what you mean. You took out the seat cushion in your Porsche! I thought you meant you removed the seat cushion in the Britax and I thought, hmmmm. Talk about daft, huh? Thanks for the link, I will check it out and also check out the Parkway car seat! My son actually is not rear facing anymore but not sure if his stats would be ok in the Parkway. Will look online and see! Thanks again!

Oh to whoever asked, it is not a convertible. It has a sunroof though.

Here is the other thread that I mentioned earlier:

It has a wealth of information that you will find very helpful. Good luck.
