Default EVOMS 1 Bar waste gates

Is there any need to change my OEM waste gates if I am running the FVD ECU upgrade @ 1.0 Bar, I saw the EVO waste gates advertised in my 911 mag, it recommended changing the standard waste gates for the uprated one if running higher boost level. I'm just not too sure about the benifits???????

You can only change the wastegates if the program in your ECU is made for different setting wastegates, so don't change anything if you don't want to see limp mode and fault codes coming up in your car

Not exactly. You can adjust the wastegates (and should) after the ECU flash. The aftermarket wastegates simply have stronger springs that don't open too early thus losing a lot of boost. BUT you do need to be extremely vigilant in adjusting the wastegates properly or you could have big problems. It is a great cheap mod that you will really notice once installed properly.

Note, however, by just tightening down the existing wastegate actuators what you are doing is creating pre-load on the spring inside the actuator housing. This essentially makes it a "stiffer" spring, but you loose a bit of spring travel. While this will acheive the desired goal of keeping the WG shut until a desired pressure, you loose a bit of part throttle "resolution" in control of the WG and thus boost control.

You can wind in 1 turn on factory K16's but that is it.. This will combat age and fatigue.

K24's K16 hybrids and K24 hybrids benifit from higher spring rates. The factory spring is not stiff enough to handle the back-pressure. The seat pressure isn't high enough and will be pushed open.

One thing I noted when my car went up on the lift today is that the only really corroded / rusty part was the waste gate valves

We only really recommend these on the K24 cars that run higher boost. Not necessary on the K16s.
