Default Price Drop - 2002 996 Turbo Tip For Sale $58K

I am helping an associate sell his car. He bought a new 997 turbo and declined the dealer's trade-in offer. He now has both cars and is very motivated to sell. If this is what you are looking for, you won't find a more motivated seller. My guess is that someone will steal this car.

I have not yet seen it in person, but I'm willing to inspect for those who are interested and not located in the Southern California area. I have no financial or personal stake in the sale of this car. Just trying to help a guy out. Let me know if you are interested and I will put you in touch with the seller.
Details that I know:

Mileage: 34K
type 996 420
test group 2PRXV036TUR
vec#36V7GFFF
engine code/trans code M9670-842-A9850
VIN WP0AB29902S685233

Asking $68K All reasonable (unlike the dealer's) offers will be considered

Ive never understood why folks look down on the tip. Its not any slower than a 6 speed. Hell, i bet with the right driver its faster than the 6 speed.

Id rather have a 6 speed because I like shifiting.. but there are times when a wish i had a tip.

I've never quite comprehended it either. I guarantee that the TIP is faster than a 6 speed given 2 mediocre drivers. Now with someone who has seat time in the 6 speed that would be slightly different. In the tested 0-60 times the TIP was .1 second slower so it's not this drastic margin people make it out to be.

I love my TIP and after driving it for a while would never have a manual again. It's the best of both worlds...

Anyway, back to your sale. GL with it the car looks very nice.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm surprized that no one has tested the owners motivation yet.

Great looking car, wish I had one

I think if he wants it to move fast he should tell us what his bottom line is. Everyone has one, a bottom line that is.

68K seems like a high starting price if he's looking to move the car. I'd hate to be making two payment to.

I agree $68K is too much. Seems like mid $60's is where the market is. What do you think is a fair, but priced to move, price point?

I can try to find out. The buyer of this car won't be paying retail. The owner says, "all offers welcome" - take a stab at it, you may just wind up with the car of your dreams for less than you dreamt possible.

You sound like your in sales

Please don't take this the wrong way...

Price 55000 If he wants it to move now

Price 60500 If he wants to sit on it for a short time (1-2 months)

I'll bet they offered high 40's

I'll take that as a compliment! Thanks for the input, I'll pass it along. I don't think he wants to sit on it but I don't think he wants to toss it away either. I know he does not want the hassle (guess that's why I'm helping). We have a motivated seller, justs need a buyer. Personally, I'd like him to donate it to charity (ALS).

I'd buy it ... but I'm all out of "garage" space.

Why not you Fred? I'll help you move the seat.

I'd love to buy it, but I'm out of garage space too. If I were willing to part with my 993 I'd be all over it.

The charity idea is great.

Try posting this over on the 996 board. You might have better luck.

He can always use ebay. I saw a 2002 with 24000 miles on it sale for 63000.
