Post What do you do for a living?

I checked all 9 pages of topics, and didnt find this topic, so here it goes...

I'm 19, at 3rd year of Georgia Tech, and trying to figure out what the heck to do with my life. So i figure the best people to ask are the successful ones. And i KNOW all of you are successful after reading some of these threads and seeing the cars you drive.

I've always wanted a Porsche. And in my price range, i could have gotten a 914/944 type, but they're a little boring to drive for my tastes. Ended up getting a totally different car.

'65 Mustang fastback GT-350 clone. No power brakes, no power steering, drum brakes, 4 speed toploader, posi-traction, no a/c, about 250hp/320ftlb in a 2800lb car. Its fun and a great car for me at this point.

So I am an avid car enthusiast, and would love to have something very rare one day, but i need money to do that.

I just would like to know what you guys do, AND whether or not you're happy doing it. Thanks!

I am in the printing business (specializing in flexographic pressure sensitive labels). While it has provided me with a decent lifestyle, it is a very challenging field to be in, especially in Southern California where there is an endless supply of competition. Unless you have some distinct advantage such as being able to produce it faster, cheaper, or better than the compeitors, you should not enter any manufacturing industry or you will be eaten alive.

Let me just say that unless you are somehow able to print money, it's not worth getting in to! Unfortunately, I haven't figured that one out yet

I work for the Systems Department of a small (# of people) although large (amount under management: ~ US $5 billion) hedgefund in New York. Was a New Yorker most of my life until I got married last year and moved to Philadelphia... and yes, I commute to New York 5 days a week. My wife refuses to move!

On a side note, we picked up a 1999 Mercedes SLK w/ Sport Pkg this past weekend (geez, the prices have fell through the floor on used cars!) This car is so different than the 996 Turbo but a blast to drive.

Clone, I actually work in the Concourse buildings up off of I285/GA400 (actually, the King building to be exact). Those are the two large skyscrapers that look like King/Queen chess pieces.

I am in Information Technology and specialize in IT Projects and Project Management.

By the way, Go Dawgs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> (I'm also a UGA grad.)

Retired from electrical engineering at 35 (no real passion for it) to invest in various real estate scenarios (absolutely love it)...
