My parents bought me a nice frame for the diploma that I got when I was graduated with distinction from Penn.
20 years later I bought my X50.

No moral here........Just jealous!
LOL

What a fabulous present.

1986 Stevens Institute of Technology Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Degree (parents paid 80% of cost of school)

2000 Stevens Institute of Technology Master of Engineering Degree (Previous employer paid for cost of school)

Three years after BE degree, bought 944 Turbo (First Porsche)

Fourteen years after BE degree, bought 993.

Seventeen years after getting BE degree, bought TT.

Hmmmmm, if my parents followed Dario's advice, I would own a McLaren by now!! I am simply thankful they put me through school. That education is priceless to me.

I don't have anything close to a 996TT, I have a 964 Turbo but I am about your guys age (23). I got my 911 Turbo when I graduated from college(RIT) (paid for it myself though). I also look young (18ish). I get tons of comments from people about being to young to have such a nice car. Or that I don't deserve it. "Dad let you drive his car huh". "Can I be adopted into your family". I can go on and on. It kind of pisses me off.

You guys have any of those experiences?

My dad bought my my 1st car a Subaru WRX when I was 21yrs old for US$100k here in Singapore. Sold it when I was 25yrs old and he bought me my 930turbo for US$70k, spent another 70k on restoration and converting it to a BTR. Cars here in Singapore are too damn expensive.

Sorry guys in case you'll are wondering, the Subaru was brand new and the 930 used, hence the price difference.
