Pulled the immobilizer and it was full of water. Plugs going into it wet, and it was all green and gross. Looks like it was wet for more than a day. Nevertheless, I've been soaking it in Mass Air flow cleaner as I think it's the same as electric spray, and it's mostly clean. Looks actually pretty good. I will go over the whole thing with some Q tips and alcohol and hope for the best.

Good luck man. Hopefully everything works out for you after sorting the immobilizer and all your cars symptoms were precautionary due to this.

…sounds like the car wasn’t physically flooded/submerged but the sunroof drains was the source of water egress?

Ingress I think, and yes. This is a good lesson to make sure the sunroof drains are clear. I had a similar issue with my Cayenne where the sunroof drains were cleared but kept backing up in heavy, heavy rains. It turns out they use two hoses, that are slip fit inside the A-pillar and when it rains heavy, it allows the water to back up and out of the slip-fit connection. That car was bone dry today.

Luckily, my car is on a very slight incline, so it seems most of the water pooled in the back seat, the immobilizer was flooded itself, but there was no water in/around the little area under the driver's seat. Like it washed over it.

Thanks for the well wishes.

I like that you’re finding a means of optimism during all of this. Keep us posted. Anything i can do to help I’m essentially a stones through away.

Here’s where we’re at now. Cleaned the plug/harness side and the board looks rather clean. Still some corrosion on the pins and slight white residue I’m trying to work through.

I wish I took prior pics, it was completely green/white, all covered in a paste of sorts. I’m surprised it looks this good. I’m gonna let it dry some more and plug it in and hope for the best.

The Tyco relays need to be checked. I would remove at least one of the "covers" for a quick inspection.

Those covers don't appear to come off easily. Feels like they'll break upon removal and they're not like regular relays as they're soldered to the board.

In any event, with my impatience, I took the board to the car and plugged it in. Originally had nothing, had to reseat the blue plug and then the car fired right up. Pulled it back out to continue cleaning it up a bit and clean the interior out and I'll test it all later.

Hopefully this is the end of it, and I lucked out without too much damage. We'll see once driving to make sure all is working.

Thanks for all the help! It's much appreciated.

I wish I took pics as I removed it. It looked like a lost cause for sure.

Not sure anyone read, the car is running. Just need to finish cleaning up stuff and hope for no further issues, but all appears ok after lots of cleaning.

That's fantastic news. I salute your DIY capabilities too. Can you imagine if you had to take it to a shop for all that? ( $$$ )They'd probably sill be " diagnosing". Hat tip to you, sir.

You know, as I was taking it apart/putting it back, I was thinking based on just the visual condition if this was at a shop, and I filed a claim, it would be big $$$ or worse. It's really amazing when you think about it, what we can do if we work a little.

I'm sorry to hear that, what a PIA. Sounds like you're on top of it.
