yea, some prefer that, not sure why, it's a taller tire in front, 235/40/18 and 315/30/18 are the same size, but this is a tale as old as time, maybe only bested by "oil" threads.

I don't really understand that wear, and why it hasn't gone across the face of tyre - I would expect to see roughness across the contact area.

"WOT squat"?! Possible. It prematurely kills inner rear tread if pronounced and for long enough. It's that darn toe again! Or was, in my experience(s).

the contact patch is pretty good, look at how dirty the tire is. It’s just lots of camber and now a potential shock issue that exacerbated the inside, but inner wear is usually more prominent, even though a lot of the tire wears across the face. These were almost at the bars.

I see that; typically, if a shock is bad, you see 'knurled' or 'rolled' rubber across the face of the contact patch - I think I have a set downstairs that has that effect on them, I'll try and get a pic up for you today.

You can see, I hope, the somewhat 'wavey' effect over the tire, this was directly associated with a blown shock, not staying in proper contact with the road, rather, it was flopping around and banging the road; but the effect is right across the face of the tyre.

that tire appears to have been raced on. Google scalloped/ cupping tires and you’ll see pics that look identical to mine.

I ran these on the street in Alberta, fairly hard. the second set (17s, these are 15s) when the shock was fixed did not wear that fast or look anything like these.
