Throttle cut, then ABS/PSM/CEL?
Took off from a stop briskly, then hit it in 2nd gear. Had a huge throttle cut event, which I assume was PSM kicking in, then the ABS and PSM light lit up. I assumed they'd go off on the next key cycle. Several hours later I hopped in the car to drive to the Post Office and to my surprise both the PSM and ABS lights were still on.
The post office is only 2-3 blocks away, went in, did what I had to do and came back out. This time on start up not only were the ABS and PSM lights on, but the check engine light was on too. Car starts and idles fine, has a bit of a stutter on throttle tip in to drive off but drives fine. Trip was too short to get into boost and see...
Got back to the office and popped the hood (??) and nothing looked amiss. Main boost hoses were on and tight. I can't scan it until I get home, but wtf is going on here? Any ideas?
My Golf R isn't going to arrive until this weekend as the earliest, so I need the 911 to get the work...

The Psm shouldn't result in any "throttle cut" that could've been the brake stabs of the abs.
Reads like you got a "soft code" after the psm/abs "event" and didn't shut down long enough for the ecu to clear it.
You need to run a scanner if you start again and still see the abs/psm cel.

Don't think so. I'm going to unplug the MAF for the drive home and see if it runs better that way. If so, then I probably fried the MAF sensor.

My understanding is that with wheel spin the engine's ignition can be retarded to lower the power output via the traction control system, which I believe is a part of the PSM system.

Not sure yet. Will scan it soon, at ju jitsu with my son.
Car drove fine with the maf unplugged so I suspect that. I ordered a new maf, will be here Wednesday

Read the codes and it was the MAF. Pulled the MAF and cleaned it, cleared the code and pulled the negative terminal off the battery for a hard reset. I have a new MAF coming, will arrive this Wednesday, so hopefully cleaning it will work until then.

Is the stock airbox a MAF eater?
