Isn't that an aftermarket steering wheel?

Good memory! No not yet - I haven't found the time to install it, however, I think it is more a modified OEM one than an aftermarket one... Mind you, I am going to try and find the time before we leave...

Don't you have an aftermarket exhaust?

When I bought my brand new 996 Turbo in January 2002 (the car I still own) the first change I made to the car when I got it home was switching out the U.S. front side markers with the RoW smoked units. The second thing I did (the next day) was remove the warning decals on both sides of both sun visors, and the warning label on the outboard side of the dash on the passenger's side. I can't remember if there was a warning label on the side of the dash on the driver's side, but if there was I removed it too.

What technique did you use to remove the stickers?

I used 3M Adheasive Remover sprayed on a cloth. I pressed and held the cloth against the decal to allow the product to do its work. It's really important not to soak the cloth because you don't want the product dripping onto other parts of the interior. As I remember it took 10-20 minutes to remove each decal. At certain reflection angles you can see where the sticker used to be on the non-mirror side of the visor.

The decal on the side of the dash just peeled off.

Mine appear to be one with the visor - had to look after you pointed this out - or a very, very thin sticker...

Speedtech 3", 100dpi cats, loudish....

Your visors are vinyl with a hard plastic mirror cover, right? If so the decals on your visor should be very thin. They will come off.

As I remember, the leather visor option did not have a decal on the non-mirror side (maybe not on either side), so if someone didn't want to remove the decals then they could order the factory leather visors if they wanted to be decal-free up there.

Back in the day ('98-'04 or so) lots of Porsche owners were removing visor decals. I removed the visor decals on all three of the Porsches I've owned.

Thanks for tips. I peeled the one off the side of the dash long ago, and I spray painted over the ones on the mirror covers. That all worked out well.

I am concerned with the stickers on the sun visor underside because I have Graphite Grey interior and I am think removing them will leave a stain.

That may well be a valid concern. I suggest you do a search on 6Speed regarding removing decals from the visors as there may be pictures of this having been done on Graphite Grey visors. Back in '02-'04 (or so) 6Speed had discussions and pictures on the visor decal removal topic.

Two of my Porsches that I removed visor decals from had Graphite Grey interiors, however I don't specifically recall their removal leaving a stain. I'll look back in my picture stash when I get a chance to see if I have any pictures of the Graphite Grey visors with the decals removed.

Me too. The only part I still have left thought is the stock exhaust off of the 996 Turbo. Unless something radical really happens with our state government, or if the federal government attempts to force Georgia to do something they don't want to do, I'll never need my stock exhaust. Georgia is very emissions friendly and I've never had a single issue passing emissions each year with my Europipe. And currently, if a vehicle is 25 years old or older, it does not get emissions tested.

If anybody wants a stock 996 Turbo exhaust, mine is for sale.
