not exactly sure from a technical standpoint what it actually does. Practically speaking I now have no icing with abs lock up so that is a huge confidence builder. I can adjust the sensitivity so if I’m in the rain, I have better traction on wet surfaces.

this brings up another point. We decided to leave the awd system in place. On corner exit, hoping to get a nice pull off the front wheels. It’s something I’m going to need to acclimate to because I have only driven rear wheel drive cars. The thought is with two equally powerful cars, the one with awd With get the advantage on corner exit.

Great thread.

I wish I had a larger gas tank, having to fill up every 60 min on track time is a pain. I wonder if the weight loss of yours would improve consumption but I doubt it. If you planning on racing will you be thinking of replacing it with something else? Did you install a transmission oil cooler?

What weight is the car now?

Really? I run the same sizes and don't find any issue.

For me, when running the 235 PSM was constantly intervening while cornering for no real reason and it was very unnerving. Once on to the 245 the issue completely went away.

ah ok, I don't run with PSM on on track unless it raining on street I leave it on and never seen any issues.

Love your car! There certainly is a big difference between a high performance street car and a properly set up race car. It was great fun racing with you at Streets of Willow. Your car really pulls hard off the corners. Enjoy Sonoma, unfortunately my rental ride was sold last weekend so no Sonoma for me. Can't wait till my 996 TT powered Cayman is done.

Who is building this for you? I'd love to learn some more details about it. I think the cayman is a great platform for a track car, and a TT Mezger swap sounds amazing.

I don't want to hijack this thread so I'll be brief. The same company that did the race conversion in this thread Vision Motorsports in Laguna Hills CA. The car started life as my 07 Cayman S daily driver and has ended up as a race only ride. We made great power with an M97 TT but the heads kept on lifting and leaking coolant. Hopefully the Mezger will be the last major mod to give me a reliable ride. Some of the other unique thigs we have done is a 996 cup rear suspension and an Albins ST6 Gearbox with paddle shifter. Lot's of design effort and aero modeling to maximize DF and minimize drag. I do have an old build thread on here and will be updating it.

Very cool, let me know if you ever want to get rid of it, sounds like it would be a great track setup. Maybe I'll see you at some track days in northern cali sometime. Sorry for the temporary thread derail!

I did have an early version of this engine with a single turbo in my Cayman when it was still a street/ track toy. It was pretty sweet in an insane kind of way! LOL Vision swapped the 4.0L M97 for the 3.8L Mezger even steven for me. They planned on changing out the 9:1 pistons for 13:1 and use it as a normally asperated track engine.
