FYI Kline can make you a "fake" cat. It looks exactly like a 200 cell cat on the outside/same size shell but straight pipe on the inside. Years ago I was paranoid of a possible visual inspection.

I’m getting the 2.5” version with both 200cel and test pipes. We sniff here and rest readiness in Oregon but they don’t visual check. We have 92 oct here and not sure how much better it is than CA 91. Years ago I tried the FVD straight pipes on my original 996tt- it was horribly loud and stinky- the smell permeated everything and good lord was it crazy loud. @VID997 has a sweet 997tt that originally had the defatted Tumi and I thought his car sounded and smelled great. He now has a BBI race system which sounds insane and with �� oct is sweet to smell as well! I look forward to swapping in the test pipes on mine to get a bit more sound/flow/heat loss for a few upcoming DEs.
OP- I think your only option willl be to bite the bullet and call Sambo. While you are at it he has a lot more to interest you in... be careful!
