Can anyone tell me how they like after market exhausts. I am getting a Speedtech 200 cell 2.5 X pipe exhaust. How is performance, sound and overall satisfaction of this item

Most folks will swear by their choice for aftermarket exhaust...and claim this or that performance. The only way you will know if you like it is to hear it yourself. You could also search as this topic has been discussed ad nauseum for years.

The 100 cel Milltek I put on a couple years ago has been great sounding without drone.
Hard to quantify performance gains as I did turbos, injectors, fuel, IC's & inlets at the same time.

With high flow cats you may notice quicker spool up. I have the set up you are looking at and its perfect for what I use it for (touring / light sport). I would like it louder at times and quieter at others....so a toss up and good compromise.

That Soul Performance exhaust looks pretty sexy. Love the fat pipes hanging down. No, I don't own one.

Of course if you've already made your decision, I'm sure you'll be happy with SpeedTech,it's very well known brand with a strong / loyal following. Just like Kline.

I have a RUF exhaust on my car. I really love it. May not be the absolute best in terms of power gains, but the sound it makes is incredible. I feel it slots right in that Goldilocks zone between the relatively quiet stock system and other systems that are quite loud. I've done several highway trips and have never had an issue with drone.

I've got the Soul Performance Exhaust with 200 cell HJS cats. Sounds great!

Might be a little too raucous for those putting real mileage on the car but since mine is basically a toy for me, I love the sound.

Made a huge difference in power, really uncorked the car

i have the speedtech 3" x-pipe. just went from 100 cell cats to catless. It is loud. Really loud. They will swap things for you until you get what you want. I really like mine.

What's the satin finish like? Is it a ceramic coating? Post a few pics if you can!

Thanks

Stephen, You are set to receive 100 cell cats with your system, as that is our recommended cat on the 996TT. We used 200 cell cats years ago on our Gen 1 systems and upgraded to 100 cell on the X-cellerator series X-Pipe systems. The improvement in sound quality, throttle response and turbo spool are immediately noticeable vs. a 200 cell substrate and there are absolutely no emissions issues in any state. A 200 cell cat will literally dumb down the performance of the 996tt vs. a 100 cell cat...We have done a few 200 cell XC systems by special request, if a customer insists, but there is no good reason to do so....

I have the 2.5 "quiet" version from John and love it. Good luck!

100 cell cats sounds great to me. I now remember, too much on my mind. My shop is ready to pull the old exhaust and put the new one on for me. The bolts were broken off on this last motor/trans pull. Should be out and in, in no time.
