...yes, to be clear, a 16 year old Turbo. But i LOVE the way most 911 owners, like yourself, don't confine their love of the brand to a specific year.

Okay, im supposed to be at work, not typing on the forums...

lol thanks..i love 'em all. my 1st ride in one was my neighbors 911s in '67 - one of the first to land on our shores - ... and my own first porsche was a 914/6 in '76 which caught fire at a stoplight!

they have improved the marquee greatly since again, you are in for at least a year of wildly fun acclimation! enjoy and go "slow" for the first cpl weeks. lotsa power available, and with serious "tail wag" propensity lol

My first was a turbo too. Spanking new one. Wish it wasn’t. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Been itching for a 964 or 993. Can’t decide which.

She’s Here!

Yup….Torn CV Boot…parts on the way

Broke axle nut lose…

Gonna do some wheel maintenance while I wait for parts.

Some initial observations and things the test drive and wheel removal yielded…

1. Fuel gauge seems inaccurate…more troubleshooting to follow
2. Has lowering springs HR 29385s
3. PCCBs look good
4. Seems to have all new aluminum rads
5. No leaks
6. battery hold down bracket was upside down
7. Fuel filler vent line may be bad…doesn’t like to take fuel….parts on the way
8. D/S CV Boot torn…parts on the way
9. Topside vac lines all look like they have been replaced in the last year or so 9they don’t look 15 years old)
10. Wastegates look original
11. Hood ...wait Frunk shocks are weak...new ones on the way

Once the CV boot repair kits arrive, I will do more driving….dont want to continue driving a grease slinger!

I never trust the frunk lifters when I poke my head in there for long. So I have a long shtick to prop it open. Hurts like hell when it comes down.

congrats on the new arrival!
imprecise fuel gauge or cluster warning of the "fuel sender" could be associated with the fuel vent line valve going south. once i r&r'd that, the gauge was fine ( again ).

i also need to swap the cv boots and bought the kits w clamps from pelican. cheap. this before i realized its about 6 hours of labor just to r&r them. i may just swap out the spindles since im not using the AWD and redo the boots at my leisure once removed. far less labor intensive.

those are the h&r reds ( sport ) lowering springs. they wear out. check for "sag". they're cheap if you feel the need to replace if youre gonna stay with lowering springs. i use them and they work fine for me.

as others mentioned. watch out for falling "frunk holder uppers". one smack in the head and you'll never trust them again. i saw stars LOL.

enjoy the car!

I was just curious because I have a little less mileage than yours does and mine appear to be brand new - you have some interesting wear and I could not really make it out. I thought the PCCBs wore extremely well and didn't pick up hot spots - is this not accurate? BTW, LOVE the BMWs, I have an M5...

Congrats William...there is something special about your first Porsche for sure!

I bought my first 01TT in 2009 and owned it for 4 glorious years, only giving it up to pursue my 'forever keeper' 2010 GT3 RS, which I will never let go of. Fast forward a few more years and I was able to re-add a 02TT to my collection, and it's so nice having another Turbo. You're going to have so much fun with your new Porsche, and I'm impressed that your car is PCCB equipped. Although they are a bit finicky, particularly the older generations of them, you'll find that they are truly extraordinary in their lack of brake dust, so keeping your wheels clean is a breeze. I literally clean my wheels once per year on my GT3, whereas my Turbo wheels (standard steel brakes) need to be cleaned at every wash. I hope you enjoy your new Porsche in the best of health!
