Update: My "new to me" toy just got picked up from WA and is making her way across the United States to her new home in NC. ETA: 5-7 days
Delivery To do list:
Notify boss of a possible last minute day off request sometime next week.
Charge camera batteries
have back up memory card for camera in slot 2
Keep cell phone volume on max at all times
Check weather forecast for anticipated arrival date
Move other toys to make room
Remember to remain cool when the driver arrives, act like its just an everyday thing.
Lastly, remember to tell myself, "You have to eat and sleep, you cant spend every waking hour in front of the computer trying to ingest EVERY piece of data about the 996 Turbo."
This is AWESOME!

OK, I can understand excitement, but...maybe you should buy some depends as well...JK
I still remember the day the covered trailer showed up. Had to park on a nearby road as he couldn't get into my neighborhood. I ran to greet him.

Soon enough you'll have to remind yourself that you actually have a house to go back to!

Okay, so this will make some of you laugh or frown. After dealing with BMW part numbers for the last 15 plus years, I JUST realized the Porsche part numbers correspond to the model/body code….That’s genius!
If i had more than 30 posts, i would have known that.Signed…new guy learning!

Like when a 964 part is still active ... Or a 991/9097 part number supersedes the 996 part, or ???, so don't always count on it.
The other trick to keep in mind if your new to Porsche part numbers is that on parts with a left and right, third set of three numbers ends in ODD for LEFT, and EVEN for RIGHT.
eg: GT2 rear fender liner bracket:
996-504-353-91 (left side)
996-504-354-91 (right side)
And the last two numbers are model differences and revisions...
eg:
996-504-353-91 = (GT2 rear fender liner bracket, left)
996-504-353-00 = (996 Turbo rear fender liner bracket, left. Similar part, but non-GT2)
996-504-353-0A = (this part doesn't really exist, but if there was a newer version of 996-504-353-00 , this last number would roll to a higher number or letter)
