+996. If you want to drive it, look for a car with 60k+ miles. That one's a garage queen.

I'll wait till it arrives, assuming the deal goes through. Maybe looking at it in person will change my mind about driving it like it's meant to be driven.

I'll still keep my eyes peeled for another higher mileage one, perhaps keep this as a garage queen/show car, or pass it on to a collector

The coupes are very rare as the vast majority of the Turbo S cars were Cabs. I would say 70s+ is what I would expect. I dont know how much value that brings unless you want to take a gamble and "collect" a 996 turbo.

Both of those BAT examples were bid up big time by a few collectors. One bought two X50 turbos within a month of each other, both for spectacular prices, and the other bought an 996 X50 and $125K 930 Turbo, again, within a month of each other.

IMHO none of those three 996 Turbo transactions are really representative of non-auction, private party market value. More an indication of maximum market value in a perfect-storm sale.

That said, a low mileage 2005 Turbo S coupe six speed is a desirable car and if kept original, pristine, and low mileage will likely be one of the few 996 turbos with some collector value.

Lol that car wouldn't last an hour at 60k. That's an absurd low-ball figure. The best 996tt iteration, very low mileage, in a killer color combo. $80k sounds very right if there are no stories.

wow, that is pricey! I am considering a 2012 TTS with 17K mi. For less than than the 05 TTS.

^^ This is what I did! 2012 TTS FTW!! I love it. Might not be collectable in the coming years, but it's a Blast to drive with incredible performance!

I'll wait till it arrives,
big mistake. Take a day or two and fly out to see the car in person. Many bad stories of cars being bought sight unseen, especially with dash scuffs I would expect some other issues. I also would put a paint meter on it to determine accident history. Good luck!

Seems like this dealer is the EAG of Porsche, trying to get the absolute top dollar for cars

Yea based on what people have said in this thread, along with some research i've done, sounds like this is a $75-80k car, pretty much right what I was thinking.

Thanks again for everyones feedback, much appreciated.

"PROFIT" is not a Dirty Word!!

He's older and partially retired. He just does to keep in the business. I can't fault him for trying to make some $$.

If it doesn't sell, I'm sure he'll adjust accordingly.
