I purchased a cherry GT3 from a guy just down the road about 3 miles. I found the car on Rennlist and had a PPI and the deal was done in less than 24 hours from his posting. The seller and I still remain in contact. He's got a sweet Lamborghini Gallardo. https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...oing-this.html

Now the car will be going to Cantrell Motorsports for maintenance. I am just not sure how to contact them as their inquire form through their website does not work and none of their emails are listed. It looks like I have to go back in time and call them on the phone.....

Nice to see the car is going to a new home and good to see another 996 turbo stay local. I've used Cantrell in the past for maintenance on my 996 turbo and highly recommend them. Give them a ring on the phone when they open again after the holiday. Colin and his team are great to work with.

Scawt and B-Dub, thanks for the info and for the endorsement. I will contact after the new year. I hope everyone has a blessed and safe celebration.

Three Wheelin'
I joined Rennlist in 2009 and didn't buy my Turbo until December 2014. Lots and lots of research and reading. I didn't start physically shopping until mid 2014. I drove and rejected several cars, both stock and modified. The more cars you drive, the more you're learn. I ended up buying 44K mile stock car, but would have bought a car with light mods if the right car had presented itself.
Good luck with your search.

I'm neither; this is an ignorant statement. There are many reasons why some 996TT drivers prefer an automatic transmission equipped version over a manual transmission version. Personally, with the paddle-shifter steering wheel I installed in my Tip equipped X50, it's perfect for my needs. YMMV.

Great thread on a Tippy vs. manual trans:

Lot's of good points. The take home for me, the tippy is not bad and has some advantages.

Hi All,
Thanks for your help. I did end up buying the 996tt. Super happy about it. I had a PPI at Cantrell Motorsports. Colin said the car is very good. It is much faster than a stock car. Everything is tight and handles like new. The bonus is the Bilstein shocks that the previous owner put on. I did have the wheels changed to the OEM turbo twist wheels. The car only has had some paintwork (on the aftermarket bumpers and spoiler), as expected. It also has a few small issues that I plan on addressing (left headlight bulb is out, driver's side mirror flipper is worn out, seat-belt cover and the trim for the cup holders). Minor stuff. It does not leak anywhere and DME is just barely in Ones and a few in Twos.

Terrific. Congratulations. The only head scratcher here is why is it showing range 2 over-revs on a tip? From what I've read, it's possible by downshifting going down hill or something of that nature, or it possibly has a tune, which I may have missed in the thread? Either way, nothing to worry about.

Wonderful. Black and brown is a helluva color combo, too. I'm very jealous.
