Default help identifying clear slippery fluid leak (center of car)

I was installing a new eRam kit in my car this weekend (much love for seized bolts on the engine lid liner!). After I moved the car for a test drive I noticed a clear, slippery fluid on my garage floor right in the center of the car, slightly ahead of the midpoint (front to rear). The fluid is completely clear, odorless, and yes, tasteless. Any idea what it could be? I attached a photo below and the blue outline circles some wetness around the underbody shield. Thanks!

Swab onto a white suface........green tint = Pentosin, clear / yellow = brake fluid? Truly colorless & odorless......were you running the air or defroster (evap runoff)? Interesting, I have never seen bolts & fender washers substituted for the spring clips used on the front shield.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the hydraulic rams, merely giving some background.

If that is Pentosin, do you have any idea where that pentosin would be leaking from at that spot?

I’ll try and swab some to see if there’s any tint, but I don’t believe there is. It did not evaporate and the residue remains slippery on my garage floor even after wiping up (epoxy flooring). Definitely ran the AC, but I assume that would just be water?

Any chance it it could be the center differential, viscous coupling, drive shaft, etc leaking fluid?

Possible I suppose, how many miles? When I changed my diff oil at 50,000 it definitely had color. Evap runoff would be water, yes....not oily.

I would pull the shield and have a good look around with a strong flashlight. Hopefully you spot the issue if any.

Viscous coupling fluid should be a black goo, not likely that it is it. AC condensate usually comes out of the front of the car, just behind the steering rack,

My guess is trany oil, but i don't know what it tastes like so you are on your own there.

Forgot about coolant, what color is yours? It tastes very sweet.

I appreciate everyone’s help. I pulled the shield and it looks like the passenger side axel shaft backed out. I had new ones installed as part of my front end/suspension rebuild. Will be taking it back to the shop to see what happened and get it remedied. Anyone here have any ideas what would cause this in the first place?

Thanks for the eRam mention! Glad you found the problem - did it back out of the dif or the hub?

I think it backed out of the diff, but I’m no expert. Here’s a pic of the axle.

Dave-eRams were great, instructions are thorough and if it weren’t for the previous owner, would have been dead simple. Had seized bolts for the lid liner and what looks to be a radar detector wired and screwed into the lid liner that messed up wire routing-but we got it worked out and I couldn’t be happier to see that spoiler pop on the freeway!

Pentosin is used for the power steering pump and thus the power assisted clutch mechanism, i.e. slave cylinder that resides on top of the transmission.
