Help with ruf aero lip install?
hey guys. I just got a ruf front lip for my car. Essentially it’s the aero front lip but it has 993 gt2 style “wings” on the sides and made of carbon. Anyways, I had the same issue when I purchased a carbon front lip for the car. When I go to install it I hook one side to the front bumper and slowly start pushing in. When I get to the other side, it’s about 1/2 -3/4 inch short of the other side. Part number is correct for the car.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!
Do I need to take the bumper off? Put it on a lift? Strap TNT wyle-e-coyote style to it?
Thanks

Just did mine with the Porsche OEM lip this weekend and had a similar problem. It was initially about 1/2" short. I fixed it by working from 1 end, and pressing each tab area as far as it would go while working my way to the other end. Finally, it was about 1/8" off, and I used a flat head screw driver to push the plastic fender liner in enough to eventually get it on. Not hard, but it's a close fit. Not certain about the RUF part, though you might want to compare the overall length of it versus the old spoiler lip to make sure it's sufficiently long.

Put the spoiler in the sun for fifteen+ minutes to heat up. Then do what dcbailey said but use a one inch thin metal putty knife instead of a screwdriver.

I read that working from the center is how to do it. I did that last night and got one side attached. Now I’m about barely 1/4 inch away from the other side. Ugh this ****s annoying. Thanks for the advice guys. Just going to heat the wheel wells and bumper a little bit and see if I can wiggle it in.

Unless high temp resin was used for the carbon mat (highly unlikely for body work), a little heat will soften the layup, and may help.
