Question Driveshaft Flex disc

Has anyone replaced the Guibo on their 2003tt. I have a lift at home and I think if I take off the bottom shield, it should be accessible. Any insight or help is appreciated. I have a strange clicking noise every time I go forward or reverse, three or four clicks then it goes away. I have already replaced my trans mount, and have rebuild all CV joints on axles. Noise was there prior and after.

Some info in this thread. Clicking noise is typical of it failing. It is right there once you drop the belly pan.

I had the flex disk replaced and the clicking is gone now. Have an oil leak getting fixed and maybe doing a Speedtech X pipe exhaust.

What kind of "clicking" does it sound like?

I've been trying to troubleshoot a clanking sound upon accel/decel at lower speeds for a while now, as if there's a little bit of play where there shouldn't be somewhere in the drivetrain or suspension. The symptoms seem similar, though I'd call what I'm describing more of a "clank" sound.

Your "clank" sounds like a bad guibo.

That is what I had. Every time I torqued the car forward or reverse, I heard the noise. Call it a clanking, a clicking, only when starting off. Replace the Guibo.

I have the old part in hand. Dried out, cracks and worn out. The car feels great and no noise. The oil leak was something I hate and had to fix asap. Pulled motor and Trans, all back together and I am driving it tonight. Ah, feels much better. Next month the new exhaust goes on. Taking the Porsche Sport exhaust off and storing for now. All is good again.
