996 TT alignment

996 TT alignment
Lifted my car recently to find the inside of both rears showing cords while the outside of the tires seemed to have much less wear obviously. Is this normal for a 996TT or do I have alignment issues?

A little more air pressure in the rears might help the wear pattern.

Mabey common but not normal. Is your car lowered? If so you probably have too much camber or not enough toe in or both. I have 20K on my PS2s and they are still good with even tread wear. If anything they are worn on the outside from the track day at Laguna Seca. If I could see the car i could tell you what your problem is with a cell phone and a tape measure.
get an alignment before you get new tires.

Negative Camber can cause that. That’s good for handling in turns, but not for tire wear. I would check alignment settings and determine what your goals are for the car. I have mine setup for minimal and even tire wear, but the car still handles great.

Common but not normal. You need to keep on the alignments. My tires wear even. I try to align the car once every year or so.

Both Turbos I owned wore more on the inside and the alignment checked out on both. I recently had Porsche swap my tires onto my new rims and the tech thoughtfully reversed the position on all 4 tires so that the "unworn" outside is now on the inside. I will get a few more miles from this set as a result. I am going to be optimistic and call it good customer service from the dealer. Can age & spring settling cause additional negative camber? I only put maybe 2,500 miles on her per year so alignments don't normally get done on any regular basis..........

Too much Toe-in will wear the inside more than camber. Both will cause more inner tread wear. Even factory settings will wear the inside a little more. Yours looked excessive.
