Don’t forget that PCCB optioned cars come with larger 6 piston front calipers vs the regular 4 piston calipers found on non-PCCB optioned cars.

Does anyone have experience with the Tiptronic 996TT? They are in my price range and seem like a good value.
Thank you.

I would definitely drive one a bit before you decide... Lots of folks here have Tips and love them. I briefly had a Tip in a Cayman S and definitely did not love it. I also did extensive test drives on a few Tippy Turbos as well and that was enough to convince me that I absolutely didn't want a tiptronic 996 turbo, but your wants and needs might be different.

And while it's much easier to find a deal on a tip, the value will almost certainly be much less when you go to sell it as well.

My cab is a 04 6tt tip and I really enjoy it. I use it as a daily driver, approx 17k mi per year, and the tip is fine for a DD. While I would enjoy a 6sp, I appreciate the tip everyday going home in traffic. Wish it was programmable like my BMW w/ the Alpina software though. I really wish a PDK had been available then. My main gripe about the tip is it is soft on the gear change and there is nothing you can do about it. I honestly don't know how I would track a tip though, it just wouldn't be the same if that is your intent. There are just some things you can only properly do with a manual.

Have had my 04 cab for 2yrs now, and occasionally think about moving on to something else.. I usually get bored with cars after 2-3 yrs. A 997tt cab or a GT3 is a possibility, but for now there seems to be no real compelling reason to switch. While I only drive it a few times a month, it still puts a Holy $hi! grin on my face compared to my CTS-Vsport daily driver. It really is a car that can be enjoyed..
Have watched 996tt values rise, however lately it seems there are always several for sale from low mileage queens to 100k+miles drivers, for most the prices seem low to flat. It's a great time to buy..
