I just installed brand new B8 and H&R springs. The entire package will be for sale in one week. I decided to get coilovers.

Please let me know if anyone needs the entire set up.

which for me, begs the questions. what didn't you "like"? and what driving conditions made you feel this wasn't a setup worthy of keeping?

I need something more aggressive for track and canyon. I had PSS9 before on another Turbo and that was almost too soft. I don't know what I was thinking.

GLWS. i asked only as i couldn't imagine any driving on canyons ( all i do ) that wouldn't be well served by that combo you're ditching. but you know better than i. cheers.

The drop is not the issue at this point. I had to buy new top hats in the front since mine were worn out and the car was too low as a result.

With coilovers you get a faster response - more instant response - feedback is more like a go-cart if dialed in on 10.

Springs with shocks just are what they are. Always the same. They can't be dialed up to go-cart level like a Ohlins or KW suspension.

I depends on what someone wants. Springs and shocks are pretty much install and forget about it. With a suspension you can always tweak it based what you want that day for the kind of driving you are doing. There are endless options of feel based on front, rear compression and rebound settings. You got 100 options for the front alone. Same for the rear. If you mix the two you have 1,000 options. If you add front and rear sway bar setting you are at 9,000 possible combinations.

All good points. My car is as "dialed in" for canyons with the springs and mo30 damper setup as I could ever want. No gt3's or other Porsche's in my neighborhood are "faster" for having coilovers. Tracking? Sure "adjustable" makes more sense. I've driven a lot of Porsche's with coilovers and if I thought I needed em, I'd have em. But again, clearly you know what you want and need! So to each their own.

Etchhead to answer re "ride height" the h/r red spring combo puts the car at about a 1" drop while (iirc?) the factory x73 is about -20mm from US oem. Ride quality is nearly indistiguishable from either of those setups by comparison but at those heights ALL driveways are challenging lol

is your 997.2 tt lowered? i couldn't have a tt at stock ride height. it's like "land boating" lol

all kidding aside, as you know.. these cars handle SO much better with a lower wider stance ( eg ) gt2 stance/height/sizes.

I've had plenty of coilovers and in my experience, once I set them up the way I liked them, I never touched them again. You need a certain amount of compression and rebound to control the springs, then if you stiffen up significantly past that, you don't gain anything but a horrible ride.

There's a sweet spot so to speak. Now in that sweet spot there's room for individual settings, what I like may not be what you like, etc. This is where coilovers are better, however there's nothing wrong with just springs/shocks and a set of coilovers isn't necessarily going to make the car handle better over a set of springs/shocks.

That's what I like about the X73 / B8 set up. Install it and forget it - no need to make adjustments.
