Headlights don't need to be removed? I wanted to get my bumper repainted and the body shop wanted $550 just to remove the bumper and $500 to paint it.

No. No reason to remove the head lights. You can remove the bumper yourself easily in 30 minutes or less.

Thanks for posting this. I will be using the instructions to remove the front bumper off my 2004 996TT in order to replace two failed radiators and the center one as well (just as a precaution).

Update. Thanks to this post I removed the front bumper fairly fast and I was able to replace the side radiators in 3 hours. In the am I will replace the center radiator, remove all air from the system and replenish with new fluid.

Are you doing these radiators at home or on a lift in a shop? Was it straightforward?

Super straightforward on the side ones. The "L" shaped frame that the radiator sits on had to come off. It was a little of a struggle to remove the radiator hoses as they have never been off. The center radiator was a bit more work. For one, you need to have a drill bit to remove the 6 rivets that holds the scope on the radiator frame. Then you need a rivet tool. I went with what I had in the garage, compliments of Harbor Freight. The two upper hoses on the center radiator was a little more work than on the side ones. If you remove one the horns it will get you much better access. I did all three in one day without a lift but I did back up the car on a 10" ramp and I jacked the front. Removing the wheels seems to make the job easier. I ordered a vacuum refill tool but it was defective so I went ole school on the refill. I drove her to work today and she is all burped. Next weekend I will be installing the front axle boots.
