Battery tested good at both auto parts stores I took it to this morning, as well as with the tester I used in my garage at home.

That’s a 80A fuse clip.

Right.
This protects the circuit that sends power to the ignition switch, which I was not getting.

Under the dash, passenger side foot well, right on the other side of what the positive lead from the battery anchors to. It's in the current distributor, basically a fuse block with 7 fuses. This one is #4, which protects the ignition lock, and mine has no continuity through it.

This would explain why I have no 12v in my ignition switch harness.

Thanks.

We'll see what happens, should have some time to get back at it here in a couple days.

Good job.

This is first time I have heard that fuse blowing. I hate to say it but the blow fuse is just the symptom. There is a reason it blew.

At 17 years old (as evident by the color coded tape on the sealed box that this came out of) I would begin to explore the possibility that it could 'wear out'.
However, I am also open to the possibility that I may have some other issue. Time will tell.

I plan to disassemble the faulty part and see what there is to see inside.

I am excited to see if this simple fix remedies my issue.

Fuses do not wear out. They blow because of an overload. Something either shorted to ground or a component failed causing a current draw > 80A.

Congrats and enjoy! I would only possibly suspect maybe moisture up in that area which would cause it to short.

Nice work - squirrelly electrical problems are the worst.
