Shop over filled oil significantly- What needs to be addressed?

it's astonishing to me to hear of oil "overfill" issues. DIY. drain both plugs. leave the turbo's alone, and add 8 qts. bring to temp and check level, add to taste.

i need to ask why would you drive the car for 6 months if you knew it was overfilled? you increase the risk of internal engine damage 10fold by doing this . a simple engine plug drain could have saved a world of headaches

When doing this I like to change the oil filter as well

ha.. nice. as for me, i've given up cutting the filters, looking for bits.. checking oil at long stoplights, and holding any and all of my sh*t.

156.5 miles perfect, if not scratched.

I don't think he was suggesting that the point of changing your oil filter is to cut them up and look for bits.

lord have mercy lol. he was being cute and reminding me i neglected to mention changing the filter. i got that. i also do a hat dance every time i change oil, but that's optional.

I did overfill mine by mistake once. It was a mess. Oil everywhere...Intercoolers, et cetera. Needed to be cleaned. It smoked like a smoke granade at startup.
But the good news was, nothing broke or was damaged. Thanks to Mr. Drysump.
