Great point. I am in North Florida, and even though we have a few nights here that are in the high 20'sF I would run 5/50 all year long. Day time temps here are never below the 40's. IF I lived up north, where day time temps were below freezing I would not.

Today I will record my ticking and post here. Bet you all cannot wait HA!

Well here it is. This was today. I am talking in it so you get an idea of the volume. My exhaust is the old style AWE. Today it was 85 degrees and I ahve drive the car for about 15 minutes before shooting this. I ASSUME this is the typical 996TT rattle everyone talks about.

YT audio replayed on smart phone notwithstanding?

Sounds perfectly normal to me!

That was kind of my point for the OP and others. This is a rather loud rattle at idle, outside the car, yet is perfectly normal for a 996TT. Not all do it, but many do. $100k rattle can. LOL

Default Possibly loose header bolts or your wastegates dont yabe enough tension

saw the post on ticking. Check out your header bolts and also check to be sure wastegates have proper tension.

either can lead to a ticking sound at startup.

good luck!
