One owner cars...
Am curious - how many users here have one owner cars, or are the original owners?

I placed a deposit with Jim Ellis Porsche here in Atlanta in May 2001 to get my name on the waiting list for a 2002 996 Turbo build. My build slot became available in October 2001 and I spec.'d my car and the order was placed. The car was built in December and I picked it up on January 9, 2002.

I am the third owner of my car; BUT does it count that my car was bought at; and has been maintained by the SAME Porsche dealer (Sewickley Porsche) throughout it's entire life? A "One Service Center" car so to speak?

I find it curious with 16,951 Turbos produced from 2001 - 2005 there seem to be so few original owners left, or so few of them held onto the original purchase. I suppose I was expecting to see maybe 1 in 10 still as the original purchaser, but in fact, it would appear to be an infinitesimally smaller percentage than that.
Makes one wonder how may folks are emotionally attached to their Turbo, versus the optics of being seen in one, versus the disposable car crowd, etc. etc.
As I said, I just thought there would be more OG Rollers than there are. Happy motoring!
Cheers,
