Need to drop the engine and shop is recommending replacing billit pipes with upgraded ones, welding them ... quote including these parts, welding, and budget for replacing any worn rubber parts is roughly $7,000. Northern California. Any current estimates on completing this work?

Sure, ship it to Phoenix and my guy, Mcllvain Motors, will do it for ~$2500 for the epoxy and pinning, and he's done a bunch of them. Then do whatever else you want to do--a la carte. My GT3 is in there now getting some steering work done while I'm out of town. I've had nothing but good experiences with the shop. www.mclilvanmotors.com

welding the fittings requires taking the parts off the motor pulling out the old fittings and welding in the new pieces. then pressure test and reinstall . time consuming . pinning is simply pulling the old fittings jb weld them back in and drill tap and epoxy a set screw in place. less time consuming
