It could have been a current surge.

obviously it was a current surge...thats what causes all fuses to blow. The question is what caused the surge. Im gonna guess there is a chaffed wiring harness.

My last Turbo spent some time in the back yard under a cover while we demolished the old garage, the local rodents decided to have a nut eating party in the engine compartment and ended up chewing through some wires, requiring an engine drop to fix everything. Rodents love the plastic wire coatings which usually contain soy, oddly enough. You could have a short from chewed wire, hope not.

Fuses do wear out. Thermal cycles can fatigue the fuse material over time. Consider yourself lucky and move on with best intentions.

This is not a thing. Everyone has owned many cars for many years without a fuse "wearing out". Maybe one in a million fuses are not constructed properly and blow out, but they dont wear out over time. If a fuse is getting stressed it is b/c it is undersized or overloaded due to a problem. Fuses are sized well above the anticipated load of the circuit they are meant to protect.

Ya, I kinda of get that. I should have explained further, as an intermittent short could cause the fuse to blow or even a failing electronic component drawing too much current.

C2 = Ignition, Fuel injection, and Oxygen Sensor Heating. Easiest thing to check is the exposed sections of the oxygen sensors wiring.

Unfortunately, not as simple as I hoped. I've put about 100km on the car with no issues, but yesterday I went through the same stretch of road and tried to replicate the same conditions (curved road turning right @ ~ 80km/h) - and... the fuse blew.
There must be a wire somewhere exposed by the positions of the wheels or the suspension. Can anyone point me to a wiring diagram? I've looked, but can't find an appropriate one.
Thanks,

No need for a wiring diagram. Start looking for exposed wiring or chaffing. Start in and around the engine area.

Found it. The o2 sensor wire was pinched in the motor mount and partially stripped. I must have done this during my water pump install a few months back. Nice to be able to find the root cause.

Is that using the same fuse / circuit?

If not, I don't think that would be your root cause, but hope so!
